Early Childhood Music Programs 

Family Music for Toddlers 

Thurs. 1:00-1:40 or Thurs. 3:15-3:55  $80.00 month/Materials $53 per semester

These weekly classes are action-filled for toddlers that are full of energy, often on the move and eager to explore and learn.  The children will sing, chant, move, dance, listen, and play simple instruments, all activities that bridge the natural connection between music and movement.  Each lesson features movement activities for coordination, body awareness and control, exploration of space, and instruments such as rhythm sticks, jingles, rattles, drums, and resonator bars. 

 

Cycle of Seasons for Primary

Thurs. 1:45-2:25 or 4:00-4:40 $80.00 month/Materials $53.00

Celebrate your child’s growing independence and love of the outdoors with activities involving the four seasons. Developed to build attention and self-expression, activities include singing, chanting, moving, focused listening, musical games, exploring musical instruments, creative movement and storytelling. The Cycle of Seasons nurtures your growing child’s ability to use language and participate in dramatic play within a musical context.

 

Music Makers: At Home in the World for Lower Elementary

Thursday 2:30-3:10 or 3:15-4:00 $80.00 a month/Materials $63.00

Your child is now ready for a program that includes singing, creative and structured movement, playing instruments and ensemble work, ear training and guided listening. This developmentally sound approach to music literacy builds symbolic thinking, concentration, memory, and self-expression. Your child will be engaged in activities that establish a love of instruments. The class introduces the sounds of orchestral instruments individually, and then in the context of an ensemble. The children start to work with written musical patterns, too, leading to long-term success with music reading and a solid foundation for future studies. 

 

Petite Pianists Ages 4 ½ -6 

Wednesday 4:00-4:40 or Wed. 1:00-1:40 ($100 a month)

Materials: $20.00 fall & spring semester (Class size limited to six)

Our exciting piano-based program for the young child helps to introduce the world of music through fun interactive activities. Musical concepts such as note reading, ear training, rhythm, harmony, singing, and ensemble participation are introduced laying a strong foundation for future private piano & dance studies. Practice is not required. 

 

Piano Foundations Ages 6-7 

Wednesday 3:15-4:00 or Wed. 1:45-2:20 $100 a month

Materials: $20.00 (Class size limited to six)

A fun and exciting way to learn the fundamentals of piano in a group setting! The course will offer note reading, ear-training, rhythm, harmony, singing and ensemble participation. It lays a strong foundation for future private lessons for those just starting their musical training. Equipment: A small keyboard is needed for practice at home.

 

Children’s Choir

Ages 7-11 Tuesday 12:30-1:10 Ages 5-11 & 1:15-1:55 Ages 12-up or Tues. 3:15-3:55 Ages 5-11 or 5:15-5:55 Combines Ages ($50.00 a month.) Third sibling receives a 25% discount, 4th – 50%. Ten or more students needed for choir to make. 

Participates will sing varying styles of music from around the world.   Instruction in proper body alignment, breathing, basic vocal techniques and musicality will be a main focus during rehearsals.  Basic music theory, rhythm and note reading will be taught in order to develop a well-rounded musician.  Percussive instruments and movement will be incorporated for a fun-filled singing experience!

 

Private Lessons Offered on Piano & Voice Ages 5-Adult     

Future plans are being made for private lessons on strings, guitar, woodwind and brass, along and chamber ensembles and orchestra. Please list below your area of interest, along with your child’s age or A for adult, and an announcement will be sent to you once the start date has been determined.
